How We Work

Three Ways We Save Families from Impossible Choices

Here's How We Help Families

Through our thorough screening and interview process, families apply for need-based support regardless of their child’s specific diagnosis—we are completely agnostic to medical condition. Once approved through one of our three key programs, Skye Precious Kids assists with healthcare, stability, and educational needs for families with children facing chronic and life-threatening conditions. Our comprehensive vetting ensures funds reach those who need them most, while we work directly with medical providers, vendors, and other service partners to ensure every dollar goes exactly where it’s needed—never placing additional financial burden on families already in crisis.

Three ways we Improve the Quality of Life for Children and Families

Evidence-based Support That Works

Our three-pillar approach addresses the complete family crisis because when families have comprehensive support, children don’t just survive, they thrive.

Precious Health

Where Medical Necessity Meets Family Stability

Research demonstrates that financial stress significantly impacts parents’ ability to advocate effectively for their children and follow through with complex medical regimens. When families worry about affording co-pays, medications, or essential equipment, children’s health outcomes suffer.

Precious Health eliminates these barriers:

  • Direct payment of co-pays, deductibles, and medications keeps treatment on track
  • Funding for durable medical equipment and supplies that insurance deems “unnecessary” but research shows improves quality of life
  • Support for specialized therapies, skilled nursing care, and respite services that reduce parental burnout

When parents aren’t drowning in medical debt, they become more effective healthcare advocates. When children have the equipment they need, they achieve better developmental outcomes. When families receive respite care, parents experience reduced stress that research links directly to improved child health outcomes.

Precious Families

Safe Homes, Independence & Childhood Joy

Stable housing, accessible environments, and mobility aren’t luxuries—they’re foundations for quality of life that let children thrive.

We provide comprehensive support, including home modifications for independence, support for medical necessities not covered by insurance, transportation to specialized care, and our new Adaptive Mobility Program, which offers bikes and equipment to enable children to play, explore, and simply be kids.

Result: Children live with dignity and inclusion. Parents reduce stress. Quality of life transforms.

While insurance companies label adaptive bikes and mobility devices as “not medically necessary,” we understand the truth: these tools restore childhood itself. Our Adaptive Mobility Program provides specialized equipment that builds confidence, creates friendships, and gives children the independence to explore their world. When a child can finally ride alongside their siblings or race with friends, they’re not just getting exercise—they’re getting their childhood back. This program transforms isolation into inclusion, giving families the precious gift of watching their child simply be a kid.

Precious Minds

Because Learning Never Stops

Educational disruption compounds the trauma families experience, yet research shows that maintaining educational progress significantly improves long-term quality of life outcomes for children with disabilities.

Precious Minds ensures learning continues:

  • Specialized tutoring that understands the unique challenges these children face
  • Technology and assistive devices that adapt to each child’s abilities
  • Coordination with schools to ensure seamless educational support
  • Scholarships for specialized educational programs that traditional schools can’t provide

When children maintain educational progress despite medical challenges, research shows improved self-esteem, better peer relationships, and enhanced long-term life outcomes. When families see their children succeeding academically, parental stress decreases and family resilience increases
